After a couple of seasons looking for wild rooster population we found some
Great day was had by all,Big difference in release site birds and wild.
my dog was knackered.crafty little buggers

We are down south right now hunting We went after wild birds and Sharptails today.
4 hens , no roosters flushed, about 15 sharpies in two bunches with a few staggles

Well got out last weekend for wild birds.

Bird numbers seem down and sure seems dry. A lot of $&@& cactus in places there didn’t seem to be any before.

Dog has flushed 8 hens and 5 roosters so far. Quite skittish and dog has had to work hard.

Hunter numbers seem down. Idk if that is good or bad.

The pheasant population South of Lethbridge is very low this year. We hunted on our annual opener Oct 15,16 on private land with exclusive access, The number of flushes is way below past years. We don't target Huns or Sharptails, but didn't come across many of them either. Landowners are not seeing many birds. On a positive note, the roosters are big mature birds, not from this springs hatch.
