Default Opinion on land for whitail

Ok. Found this piece of land for whitetail....maybe.

To me it looks pretty good. Area is a little east of the foothills. Has a slight grade in terrain to the north. Choke points arent really present but has surrounding crop fields (i think they are crop). Also there is farm water.

Distances between treed sections are max 250 to 300m.

What do you think? What should be my approach? Set up in the middle stand of trees on the west edge by the surrounding farm or plunk myself right in the centre.

Would like some opinions on tactics from the experienced.

Cheers all

Spend the day scouting first and then you'll know where to put your stands

How much land is that? A full 1/4 or partial? My thoughts are. To use the wind, walk into it in early morning (legal shooting time) try to be where you think they’ll be coming in from feeding. Unless you know they’re routes sitting might not work.

Lots of factors. There is no silver bullet.
First and foremost, time of day will determine the set up, coupled with wind. They will be exiting the bush to feed in the evening and enetering from the fields in the am to bed. Not to rain on your parade but for me, I prefer land with a more substantial bush base somewhere. This bush in your photo is probably holding a few deer, but is basically isolated. Hard to tell what's on the east side.

Regardless, find the best feed and plan around that. I would hunt oats first if there are any followed by alfalfa. Play the wind, sit tight on an edge and have fun!

Ps trail cams are your friend

Reminds me of North American Whitetail Mag as a kid, studying the set up. Looks like good land. Hunt the middle lots of slight funnels with trails. Maybe a blind looking over the drainage to SE. 35 W is right, scout it out. Good luck
