I think the pitch is too low for a Lynx.
I would guess it's a Cougar but since I've never heard one, or seen one for that matter, it's only a guess.
I've heard a lot of strange sounds from wild animals from Moose roaring to Beaver screaming and Fox yelping but I have heard nothing quite like that.

Pretty cool, I'd almost say a distressed wolf. Can hear a bit of a wolf type howl in there.
Logger after the chilli is probably a better guess though lol

We can rule out griz it was in Ontario
Gino Meekis, a hunter who lives near Sioux Lookout in Northern Ontario, recorded the video on his phone on Oct. 3 while he was out hunting grouse with his wife and grandson, about 45 kilometres away from the town.

I'm pretty sure it's not any kind of Bear. I've heard bears death wail, angry Bears fighting, terrified cubs and other strange sounds from Bears none of which came anywhere close to the sound on this video.
It does sound a bit like the one Lynx I've heard, but a lot lower pitch.
That and the videos I found convince me it's not a Lynx.

Here's a cougar screaming. Cougars are also known for sounding like a human baby crying. They do that vocalization to attract food. I have heard it and you would swear there is a baby in the woods that needs rescuing. Extremely creepy at dusk. You get the urge to go find the baby.

Just a clarification. I'm thinking it is a cougar that makes these baby cries but it could also be lynx or bobcat too. And the vocalization might not be to attract food but could be Mama calling in the youngsters because it's not really a scream. More of a wailing cry. And sounds like baby from a distance.

At one point it almost sounds like the bay of a hound. Doesn't really sound like a threatened distressing sound. Wonder if they hear any howling at night around there. Probably a big old alpha male wolf with a beautifully haunting low howl that lasts forever.

That would be a triggered North American SJW.
Seriously though thinking wolf or some kind of canine. At the beginning it kind of sounds like the gosh awful noise moose make when they are sounding the alarm but it carries on to long. I think it's like elk where most sound fairly similar but the odd one has a weird bugle. My guess is a wolf with a bit of a different howl.

I still recall the first time I heard a moose bellow; the first time I heard a Lynx scream and those were hair raising experiences. It was a sense of comfort when I got to see both make those noises, sort of reaffirmed they weren't monsters...!!!!!
I was thinking wolf with a screwed up vocal chord but just a WA guess, but I have no idea...

I think anything is possible. Could be Wolf, Bear, Cougar or any of a number of other critters, it's just not any sound I've heard a Wolf, Bear, Cougar or Lynx make.
And to my old ears it sounds more like a cat sound then anything else.
Whatever it is, it would persuade me to end the days hunt immediately.

Wierd noise
I grew up in that area, Sioux lookout- Savant Lake. Spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, guiding, exploring and the animals that inhabit that area don't normally make those sounds but who knows, maybe there is a new critter to discover.
