Default Old propane heater question

Have an old propane heater. Have been trying to look for adapters that would allow me to hook it up to a 20 lb tank but I must not be using the right Search terms. It has a small male end that would fit into the old style propane tanks, so I'm told. Would appreciate a link or push in the right direction or proper name for the adapter. Thanks

Go see Mutual Propane. I had something made up by them to deal with the same issue.

Your location says Stettler, so go to Bagshaw electric.
Bring in the pieces you need to attach to, and they will fix you up right on the spot.

As far as what that propane end is called, I believe it's a POL. (Prest-o-lite)

POL is the correct name but I don't know what that stands for.
It's kinda embarrassing because I have half a dozen of the things just sitting around collecting dust. And I have several in use.

But I don't think that is what he is looking for, He said he has the end that connects to the tank. That's the POL.

I suspect what he is looking for is the end that connects to the hose to the heater.
If so it's simply called a flare fitting. Which covers a wide range of different connectors for adapting the hose to a range of appliances.

I have a can full of those type od connectors. I buy them at any of a number of outlets, basically any place that sells propane appliances and plumbing supplies too.

I've bought them at Peavey Mart, Home Hardware, True Value, and Canadian tire to name a few.

This place lists most of them, you should be able to find the one you want here and use that information to find it in a local store.

I forgot to ask,, do you have a propane regulator. If not you'll need one.

If it’s a hose end that fit into an old style propane tank, it should also fit into a new style propane tank. The new style tank, which is not really that new any more, does have internal threads & a compression seat to receive the old style propane hose.

I use one of these hoses to do the same thing. Top link if I'm not mistaken.

and thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I appreciate it. Would have put a pic up but imgur app on my phone doesn't seem to have the ability to show me a direct link I can copy. Only on my PC.
