Kicking myself. This was a slab, couldn't get the frigger into the net. Had to be 23" and really thick and deep. When it grabbed the fly, it near scared the crap out of me.
Gave him 2 runs to the net, first time he flipped out, second try I must have bumped the hook. Seen my prize swim away. Beautiful coloration on the gill plates.
Landed a couple of others, but still no brownies for me yet this year.
Kinda sucks, but just "kinda".
Still a lot better than not hooking that bad boy at all, right?
Too bad I wasn't there to net him for ya. Stupid work!!!

We got the same net Steve, it would pert near tapped it out.
Just wanted a pic to show off but it wasn't meant to be. Squat down in the river with a sore arm and a grin on my face all the same.
Was a beautiful day today, got a little windy and cold for a while but that went away. Lots of people on the river today.
