Default kananaskis river

With the river open in 2.5 hours, has anyone ever fished it this time of year, and if so, any tips???? obviously it would be 100% finding a deep hole, and I'm going to give it a go... anyone have advice on location? send me a pm if you don't want to the world knowing

i've heard this, i'll for sure have a buddy with me and I guess it might be a good idea to have a length of rope or something just incase. Do they spill the lakes frequently at this time of year? I wouldn't assume the melt is on too bad right now above k lakes??? Can anyone comment on the creeks running in?

And if you see a grizz anywhere near, make sure you duck the feller behind you with a big stick

Never been there to be honest, if I wasn't going to be in Newfoundland, i'd be out there with you.

Cool

Off topic a little bit, but is the Kananaskis River the river that runs behind Mt. Kidd RV park? If so what species are in there??

Sorry for the derail.

Even if its not that river, I love K-country. Where are some good locations for fishin the Kananaskis?

I've tried the Widow Maker area and had a few Brown's from there last year. The following link may help with determining the times of increased water flow in the river.

its not worth going to because the fish populations are low due to the fluctuation water tables but if you do go try and go when the water is low so you can sight fish for them.

Hey now. Im the buddy. I think we discussed what happens the other day when we went out. Been out with silver before he is a great guy. But I am too fat to out run him or the bear. So a quick poke with a stick and jts1 is far ahead.

That's not what you said. Was more like "after i'm finished beating you with a stick".

got tears in my eyes from laughing now. Jeff, gotta get out again for sure when I get back from the Rock. Had a lot of laughs with you in the back woods.
