Just a note those are rated for use up to 105 dB. The NRR is only 30db.

Default Supressors

I watched a video on the Db ratings of suppressors on youtube and I sure wish we could use them hear. The 308 diameter one reduced the blast by 30-40 db so it brought it down from 170 to 130-140 add hearing protection to that and you have a very mild and pleasant day at the range.

I have electronic earmuffs rated 24 dB - they were fine in outdoor range. But in indoor range they were not enough. I use them together with plugs now.

I always wear both at the range. I'm pretty noise sensitive so I wear plugs and then electronic muffs over top with the volume at a high enough level that I can still make out speech if I try.

I used the Sound Gear electronic ear plugs this year for the first time. I found that they worked really good. Didn't notice any guns to be loud while target shooting or hunting. All guns also have muzzle brakes.

I have ear plugs and muffs. I find myself using plugs more often. I would love the noise cancelling muffs but since I use plugs more often I can't justify picking them up.

Depending on where I am II have been know to wear both.
Even when I was young and shooting smallbore match rifles I was taught to use plugs, and I have been involved in heavy construction for over 40 years now, shooting centerfire rifles in competition, run jet boats and still shoot regularly.
I used to get regular hearing tests at work but have not had one now for about 5 years. At that time I was told I had very good hearing for my age, regardless of all thee extracurricular activities I do and my career .
