always intrigued by these rifles.
as coach of twenty years, do you think the guy was just using words that your average joe would understand for the purposes of educating the general public; or does he just not use or know the proper terms of the rifle?

Those Fortner actions are amazing, super quick and the Anschutz rifles that they are used on are extremely accurate. However, they certainly aren't cheap.

Fox News...pretty sure he was trying to make it understandable to the average Olympic viewer...who may very well have never fired or held a firearm.

Would be cool if he had gotten further into the specifics of the Fortner bolt and described the locking mechanism of ball bearings that prevent the bolt from firing backwards when the rifle fires.

Really well engineered and a clever way to eject a spent case and cycle in a new round quickly without compromising the shooter’s grip on the rifle.
