Default Neighbor moves candidate sign

I have a sign on my lawn supporting a candidate in the up coming election. This past Tuesday I left in my vehicle to run some errands a few hours later I return and notice the sign on my lawn seems to have been moved and turned which made it a bit less visible from down the road, as I’m in a cul de sac. Chatting with a buddy down the road and mention to him what I think happened. He says he will check his front camera as he can see the front of my place as well as the suspicious neighbors house. Sure enough on video at 4.29 Tuesday afternoon following my departure the neighbor lady walks out her front door moves the sign and returns right back into her house. Now I’m quite perplexed that someone obviously isn’t happy with my support for this particular candidate but has the oddasity to come on to my property and move the sign which doesn’t suit her. I will be confronting this person and most likely won’t hold back! She is in need of a good verbal lashing as this isn’t the first or second time she and her husband have participated in mindless actions.
All our neighbors are great and get along with all of them other than this particular neighbor. She is like the little kid in grade one that has to tattletale on others every move.
Trying to be smart about handling this situation, any thoughts?

I would wait until the results are in for the election and if your party that u are supporting wins. I would sneak over to her place and put your sign right in the middle of her front yard for everyone to see. Don’t get mad get even!!!!

25 mile fencer hooked to wire on the sign would be my solution but that probably would get a guy into trouble.

Let it go.
I don't think that moving your sign will have any effect on the election.
Maybe it was blocking her veiw?

I would give her a talking too and tell her it's on camera. You gotta hate a looser for a neighbor, I have one of them.

I would be assertive about her not trespassing on your property and let her know that you have footage of her doing what she did and the exact time she did it. Don't mention it was the neighbors camera so as to keep them out of it, but also so she wonders where you have cameras (even if you don't, which is the whole point).

I would also note to her that aside from not having permission to do anything on your property, that her underhanded actions are ample evidence that the party she supports is full of underhanded people and that she should reflect on that personally and at length. She's voting Orange I presume?

Get a bigger sign, like one of epic purportions.

4x4 posts 18” deep in the yard.

That’s what I would do.

Exclamation to press charges or not?

As others have stated, let her know you have video of the offense. Then explain that besides trespassing, it is illegal to tamper with, or vandalize an election sign. It could result in a criminal record if you choose to report her actions.

I second Kurt’s idea! Then save the little sign for if they win then put the little sign on her lawn

send the video in and have her charged under the elections act

on the news last week the rcmp in red Deere issued a warning that charges would be laid if anyone tampered with election signs going forward and they are treating this very seriously

for what it is worth the rcmp word as the official position

I had some jell, a few years back came in a tube. It was doe estrus flavor and strong. If you got anyone yourself the smell wouldn't go away. Get some of that and give the sign a nice coating.

Hook the sign up to a motion sensor of a loud barking dog, screaming cat, flock of magpies recording. Make the neighbor cr*p her pantyhose at least once. Good harmless fun.

I would simply explain that you have video evidence of her moving an election sign, and that it is a criminal offence.

Leave it at that, don't say of you are, or are not intending to press charges, and don't tell her anything more than that, and leave her hanging. I'm sure the stress that will cause her will be more than ample.

If she asks if you plan on reporting her, just smile and walk away.

One really good way to nip her silly games in the bud. I would bet all the other games she was/or has been playing come to a halt. No more tattling, no shenanigans ....... ah life in a quiet neighbourhood.

I see, in Sundre, someone has posted an orange T shirt on their porch. Suspect he's too frightened to put up a Rachel sign. They are few and far between.

I think the first question to ask is which party are you supporting.

Given that he declined to mention what colour his sign is on such a conservative forum, I suspect the opposite is true.
