Default 153gr A-Tip

Running low on 156 Berger’s and looking at Hornady A-Tip as a replacement. Anyone got experience with them.

Got some 144’s, plan to break in gun with them. Then going to heavies for hunting. Heard some good reviews on hornady for hunting. Be tough to beat the Berger’s I think.

Seekins Havok PH2 in 6.5 PRC. Have had a couple Christensens in PRC, and they loved 156 berger.

I took my Berger 153.5 hybrids, cleaned out the nose with a .031” pin drill, basically have an 156EOL with a slightly thicker jacket.

I am considering the same. Just going deep enough to touch lead?

Yup, the tip is already open, I used a .028” pen drill to clean up then opened to .031”. I think the thicker jacket may actually be beneficial for most peoples actual shooting distances on game- possibly a bit less explosive with good expansion.

So the 153.5 Hybrids have a thicker jacket ? then the 156 gr-ers ? RJ
