Caught lots of smaller fish but the big ones keep avoiding me. Guess I can't complain too much though as this is only my first year ice fishing and I have been learning a lot. I just need to get to know some of these lakes better so I know where to go in winter time.

Well done Stryker, goes to show never ever give up! I am glad you got rewarded with some nice fish!

Went to Leasard and Spring lake today, caught fsa. The people I talked to at both lakes weren't catch anything either, the wind made it pretty difficult!

Sorry no photos but I have to say I have spent more $$ and time this ice fishing season then any other year. Absolutely loving being out every weekend and with a camera I have learned more then I ever have.

I have caught trout, pike, walleye and whitefish. I got very close to catching my first burbott. Will be out this weekend as well

Thanks to the Fishing Doc! I was able to use some of those hooking the big ones techniques with the Marcum I've been watching on your videos! It was a blast!

Nice work everyone! As for counting being a newb thing, I'm not answering that...I am a newb and I do count...haha...but I'm fairly competitive by nature so it's something I'll always do.

It's been a slow season for me - since January caught 45 pike (biggest was a 10 lb'er), 7 perch, 3 burbot, and 1 whitefish. Sad part is I've mainly gone for whites...well sorta...after a few minutes of seeing them pass me by and getting no action, i switch to jacks - gotta do something to feel my line tug!

This is only my 2nd real year of fishing so I won't complain too much. Never do as good as I want, but am slowly learning more and more. My one accomplishment this year is catching every fish on my rod so far. Last year most of my fish iced were on a tip-up, so i'm quite proud to finally start icing them with my rod. Biggest flaws are whitefish and lakers - caught no lakers on my Cold Lake trip this year, and only 1 whitey at Wabamun. Oh well, something to strive for I guess!

Hey FreshAir, for you being a newbie you're doing great! I'ts my first season of rod fishing as well, and I sure do like it a lot better than tip ups.
Tight lines!

Ha thanks, but i caught bigger last year with the darn tipup. I'm still content knowing i'm improving otherwise, sorta. I only fish every 2nd weekend, and sucks how fast the season goes. I need to retire so i can fish more...anyone have $1,000,000 i can borrow?

My ice fishing season has been great.
Just been getting bored a little. So switching it up and starting to hunt for shed antlers.

Default Thought I'd revive this show and tell thread!!

I went to lake X yesterday and had a most wonderful day! If it wasn't for the wind blowing quite hard at time, and me being stubborn about not putting up a tent because I wanted to jump from hole to hole, it would have been perfect! I caught 8 bows one nice sized (kept 3) and also at least 5 or 6 that got away! Being a newbie it was so exciting to catch trout while jigging with the Marcum! I only ever caught them still fishing.
