Howdy folks,
New to the forum as of yesterday. I'm a lifelong hunter and an American (I know, booo lol) living down in Montana, USA. I've always had my heart set on a permanent move to Alberta and I'm finally ready to make it happen. I look forward to soaking up as much forum info as I can on AB hunting.

Thanks,

W.S.

Why the booo?

Most Albertans see Mercans as brudders.

I married a Mercan. My wife is from Maryland and until she came to visit me had never been to Canada. She loves it here and fits in perfectly.

I know a lot of other folk who came here from south of the border, including my grandfather, my first teacher, and several close friends.

You may run into a few negative nelllies up here but I expect you have no trouble making lots of friends as well.

So welcome to AO and welcome to Alberta. The Texas of the north.

New to the forum.

Calgary resident. Lived, worked, and studied in more than a dozen countries across three continents. Working mom, love outdoors, guns, cars, and airplanes.

Fascinated (in a sarcastic way) by amount of red tape, limiting outdoors activities here in Alberta - from lack of access to hunting and fishing spaces, to bureaucratic insanity of regulations.

Struggle to find an online space where to find people and information. Hoping for this site to be better than others (reference to bambi-loving snowflakes helped lol)

Hello all, I have found several helpful tips and advice in AO over the years but I have never got around to posting on the forums. I have hunted small, upland bird, and big game with firearms for 3 seasons now (adult onset). If time and resources allow, I intend to get into bow hunting soon. I also want to take up sport and perhaps fly fishing this coming spring. I recently moved to Calgary from Edmonton, and I am enamoured by all things outdoors--hiking, camping, adventure sports, conservation, etc.

Looking forward to contributing and learning from this community!

Hi all, been following the forum for a while now so figured I'd better sign up. Been doing the outdoor thing for over 50 years now, actually a little closer to 60 than I care to admit. Look forward to contributing when and where I can.

Cheers,

Default Introduction

Hello all,
I am fairly new to the forum although I have often come here for advice. I’m an avid hunter with both bow and rifle mostly in south west Alberta as I currently call Calgary home. I do a decent amount of hiking, back country camping, fishing ect, as well. I really appreciate the input from other members and will try to share what I can on my own end. My kids have been joining me on many expeditions and are eager to be out in the wilderness any chance they get.

Hello,

New here, been browsing for a few months now and since its a new year and new hunting season I figure I would introduce myself. Mostly a hunter and sport shooter, haven't fished in a while. Hoping to learn lots here, have lots of downtime at work to read the forums these days.

Thank you!

Thumbs up New to the forum

Hello all,

I am glad to be joining the forum here. Lots of great information to learn from!

I moved to Calgary about 2 years ago (from BC originally) and am fairly new to both hunting and fishing - never had anyone in my family participate much in either while I was growing up. Trying to soak up as much information as possible so that I can learn the proper way to go about things.

Feel free to shoot me a message if you want to connect!

Thanks
