Default Slo Pitch Tourny???

Does anyone know of a FUN tournament that is within 3 hours or so of Calgary?
I have helped start a Co ed team here, and we were looking for a out of town tourny this summer.
We are a new team.. But its a fun team. We would be looking for a Rec tournament or division. We have no ringers as was apparent when we got together tonight. LOL
July long weekend might work?

Thanks
Jamie

Default ball

don't bother looking on spn website if someone suggests that, most of those tourneys listed there will be fairly competive. i guess it also depends on what do you define as competitive?? did any or all of your guys play baseball growing up? did any or all of your chickadees play fastball as teenagers? and how far removed from playing are your experienced people??
one good way might be to try small town tourneys, look in small town local papers and such for a rec tourney or family tourneys something like that. but once again that can be decieving as lots of small towns can field several good competitive teams. look at entry fee, the higher it is (usually) the higher the competition level, and the more sacrificial lambs there the better is is for the top tier teams, we usually say something like "well who's coming this weekend? cause i just dont' want to go there and donate money".
but a great sport to pick up a good time and all. if ur willing to travel up north let me know and i'll find something fun for you!!!!!!

Brown. I really don’t think any of us (guys) played higher than little leugue.
As for the girls. perhaps one might have played Soft ball up till she was 15 or so. Other than that not one girl played organized ball. She is 32 now
5 of us played Slo pitch last year. I would say I am the most experienced, as I have played Slo pitch for at least 10 out of the last 15 years. But it has always been beer leugue stuff. I did play one season of fast pitch, but that was 12 years ago. (I really liked that game). 3 of our guys are tall and athletic, but no ball experience to speak of. Me.. I am short fat and slow. but not much gets by me at first. I have to hit doubles so I can stretch them into singles

Please let me know what you have coming up, and I will drag up the trailer and I will turn it into a hospitality suite
The name of our team is the Liquor Pigs. On a great side note, we managed to come up with $1,100 worth of sponsorship. So that paid for our T shirts and new equipment (To a point). We had 10 bats donated to us, bought new bags, balls and a strike mat. All T-shirts will stay with the team. So I hope this will be a on going thing.
We sure would like to travel north. A great weekend of ball and some camping, getting sun burnt and having a great time.

Thanks
Jamie

Default Tourny

There is a great Tourny in Enchant On July long weekend we have been going for years. It is quite fun and we have won 3 games in 3 years (sauce helps with that one). There is a good campground, golf course, pond to swim in, beer garden and dance.

Around Edmonton there are a couple small town ones - we usually go out to the Wabamun tourney around June 20th, and there is another one in August in Devon - but i can't rmember when it is exactly.

Hey all!

Anyone know of a tournament for the July 24th-26th weekend?

For the past like 4 years we have gone to Hanna on this weekend, but was informed that they moved the tournament to mid August.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And hell if you want to play in tournaments let me know. We go to a lot and are always trying to find players.
