Hunting gear freebie to give to a youth.
I have a few items I would like to donate to a young 16 or less fellow or gal that is starting out hunting.
-A couple of Tink's Mock Scrape Starter & dripper Combo packs.
-A blaze orange hunting fleece jacket.
-A couple knives
-A 8 to 1 block and tackle
-A Take apart meat saw.
I would like to donate these items to a youth that doesn't have a lot of gear. Not someone that has the ability to have dad go buy gear for them. If any AO members know of a deserving youth that is upstanding and has passed their hunter training course let me know.
If any youth would like to receive these things send me a message with a paragraph telling me your age and why you hunt. I will consider all boys or girls replies and make a decision in a couple days.
I can do a meet and greet in the Edmonton area to hand off the goods.

Wow. 141 views and only one response. I thought there would be more young hunters interested in this freebie.

Good on you RB for doing this. This is one of the things that I really like about this forum, people helping each other especially young hunters.

This is a great jesture. My son is 12, had his first season this year. He doesn’t have a lot of the stuff on the list, heck, neither do I. We have been helped out by some great members, and now banned members, of this great website.

Just to mention that another AO member has passed on some camo clothing for a donation too. Will be included with my gear giveaway. The clothing size is for a really big kid or young adult.
Hats off to Nimrod for the donation.

Good on you for donating your stuff! No idea what the first item on the list is, but me and my boy hunt together, and usually bring a friend along as well, so he's got what he needs.

Mock scrape starter is used during pre rut and rut. A person makes a ground scrape and puts the dripper over the scrape. It is used to attract bucks and keep them coming back to check the scrape.

Happy to say the items were donated to two people.
Birdseye's 12 year old son received some items. I hope it inspires him to enjoy hunting.
The other items were donated to a young man that is just starting a military career. He has limited income and a passion for the outdoors.
I can only hope these two guys will pay it forward with a good deed in the future.

Love seeing things like this. When I first started out and bought a youth 22 for my oldest son someone on here donated a cheap rimfire scope for him to use, as at the time I was struggling and buying the rifle was all I could afford.
My stepson loves to come out and shoot and getting him out in nature and away from all the electronics that kids are anchored to was worth every penny.
Kudos to you guys for paying it forward.
