Default White River MOLLE fly vest

Hello all, I'm looking for a new fly vest. I have a very cheap Reddington right now. Although it works, I find it to be uncomfortable and not very storage friendly, despite having quite few pockets.

Does anyone have any experience using the White River vest from Bass Pro? I am not much of a fly fisher but knowing that I can just change out a pouch or move it to somewhere I like better is kind of appealing.

Looks to me like an adaptation looking for a reason to be. Your probably not getting many responses because no one in their right mind would get one of these IMO.

I can’t say I would purchase one of those. I purchased mine from Amazon I’ll post the link below. Couldn’t be happier with it. Lots of storage in the front for flies and fly boxes. Back side features a back pack with 2 compartments. Holds a camelbak bladder and the hose exits through the shoulder strap. Has worked great for long day trips where snacks, lunch and water were required. For about the same $$$, check these out.

I do like the looks of that one too.

The reason I was looking at the other one was the options you have with modularity, putting stuff pretty much where you want it. The one in your link does look pretty good too.

Probably best to save your money and purchase a Patagonia, Simms or Fishpond vest. They are going to be WAYYY more comfortable especially if you are going to be wearing it for extended periods of time and offer great (useful and innovative) designs.

Just my opinion.

I went to using a backpack instead of a vest so I didn't end up carrying every single fly box and what not every time I went fishing regardless of the situation. Also easier to carry food, jackets etc. as well.

I have the best of both worlds, the Patagonia "Sweet Pack" 3 in 1 : 1) Pack, 2) Pack with attached vest or 3) or stand alone vest. Looks like they have updated it which means the previous version will be on sale...
