Super Cool Muscle Car in Buy/Sell
A new ad just caught my attention and I clicked on it. What a gorgeous muscle car. Put a smile on my face. Hope it does yours too.

PS: To my knowledge, I have never met or conversed with the owner of this vehicle. For real. Just appreciate nice cars.
I’d love to hear the story of how it came to be. I have precious few mechanical ones in my body, so I marvel at guys who are gifted in these things.

Every time I see and ad like that it reminds me of the '56 Chev my dad and I built.
We bought the car with 77,000 original miles on it.
Neither of us had ever built a hot rod but we tore that car right down to the frame and completely re-built it.
A couple years ago my Dad was going through some mental issues ( he's all good now) and the car got sold without my knowing.(Dad still lives on the Island) I immediately called the guy that bought it to see if he would sell it back to me. Told him he could pretty much name his price. He wasn't interested in selling. I don't blame him its a beautiful car.
So when I see these adds the first thing I say to myself is " are you sure you want to do this?" lol

It would be sweet on a 4x4 Blazer frame though…

You guys are almost right.
Keep the chevelle front end, but put a truck box on the back.
The el camino registers as a truck, and you can put purple gas in it...

A Camaro can haul a bag of feed. It’ll eat purple too. 😀

Bought same Camero in 68 right out of the show room. The 327 and Hurst shifter sure made the car move. Father thought I was a fool when I bought it, he was right when I needed to use it to pull trailer loaded with lumber to build my first house.

I was about 13 when it came out...one of my favorites too. Getting dumped was the best thing to ever happen to Cusack. Ends up with a killer '67 Camaro and a cute little French foreign exchange girlfriend...

I’ve gone to this high school for five and a half years Lane; I’m no dummy.
What an awesome spectacle to behold, the once great Lane….

Had a 69 with a 302. Not sure what possessed me to sell it for $2300 but I really wish I hadn't. Worth a bit more these days.

Got out of bush in spring of 1970 and bought a 65' Vette. Removeable hardtop , 327 4 speed , factory air. A year or so later my friends dad offered me $3200 for it...$100 more then i paid. What a smokin deal ! Went and bought a beat up "box" Blazer with big boots and a winch and figured had world by the tail.
Me...

I wish that the Camaro was mine, but I'm actually helping my sister sell it. It was a driver when they first picked it up in 2008 I believe, in a turquoise hue with non-correct white 1968 SS stripes. It looked ok, was drivable and the manual had been replaced with an automatic. It was tough to get a really good look at the underside of the body due to the undercoating, so the carpet/seats were taken out the next spring. When my brother-in-law saw the poor job that was done on the front floor pans, that's when the tear down started and the parts list started to grow. She wanted a classic car not a hot rod or resto-mod, so the powertrain was to be kept civil. She didn't want a numbers-correct restoration because she wasn't a fan of the Butternut Yellow and didn't like vinyl roofs. Countless hours and $'s later, it looks as it does now (not to mention that his '55 Chev resto-mod build was put on the back-burner for a couple of years). The car was completed in 2010, but she bought a new Camaro SS in 2011 so the classic Camaro was pretty much relegated to a few car shows and mostly sitting covered in the garage. If I had the extra cash right now, this car would likely be sitting in my garage.
