How did they come up with the $1300 figure? What is the replacement cost of AR-15?

mine was almost double that, 6 years ago.

$1337 is a slap in the face.

A low end Norinco sold for $600+/-

A high end Knight/Colt sold for $3,500+

Your question is like asking what is the replacement cost of a truck? Which truck? What options?

It's gravy time for the Norinco shooters

I've built AR-15's for as little as $500 and upwards of $2k

So the stripped lower from my M&P-15 is worth $1337? I think I may comply

My case is in front of the courts. That needs to be cleared up before I'm impacted by the amnesty deadline. Our lawyers think this is going to the Supreme Court, so my case will take a while.

A few of us on this forum urged AR owners to file a Section 74 challenge in court like we did. Unfortunately few people in this country did. Sad that 200 people filed instead of 75,000.

And yes, this is the joke from Hell.

Has anyone found the Public Safety Canada buy back price list?

I’m searching the internet but I’m not having much luck.

So what will my banned non functioning airsoft m4 variant be worth? If I get the $1337 for it I might be willing to comply

This is what a friend sent me, seems like pretty wishful thinking if they expect people who own Robinson Arms XCRs that were never registered to turn them in for much less then their value (or Ruger Mini 14s).

And yes, as Tranq said, as long as our matter is before the courts there is nothing they can do about my rifle (and I expect that to be *years* yet, the wheels of justice grind slower then I ever imagined!) ...so even though it has cost me 3x as much for my legal fees, as they want to pay for my M&P15, I'm still glad I did it. Just because, I don't feel like rolling over like a good dog.

For those who are thinking about complying and surrendering their property, because they are concerned about legal repercussions and a criminal record, consider this.

Our current government can't even manage a passport system that has been in place for centuries. It is dysfunctional and broken, as are many other government 'service's (think CRA, health care, and work your way down to infrastructure and repairing pot holes).

Do you really think they will be able to enforce this ban? Really?

Not to mention that it will be unlikely you even get charged criminally after. Likely just confiscation and a fine.

Come get them JT

They are asking for input on it, also ask you to state what you own---don't be doing that part of it

Certainly is. My Law Enforcement Model M 4 which is full dressed would run around $ 5K to replace.

They can pee up the proverbial rope as far as I am concerned...

I wouldn't be going anywhere near that survey without 4 layers of VPN between me and it.

And besides, any time they have 'consultations' with interested parties, it is meaningless theater. It won't make any difference, all it is is a platform for them to get information on you, and what you might have that isn't registered.

What do you mean? They did such a fine job 40 years ago with the original gun ban fiasco. Only cost 2 Billion! Chump change for the Lieberals.

I was told not to file a section 74 yet until they officially give me the paper work rescinding my registration. As the notice they gave was a bit vague yet clear in its stance.

I have read through all the cases so far and it seems the courts are having a hard time taking direction from the Justice minister cough cough judge and jury trudeau.
A few Judges are actually looking at the 74 cases with open eyes. Ultimately the outcomes will depend on the wording from the CFO/ Registrar.

I think ATRS has the best chance so far to be successful for their lawsuit. Until it all comes to a end we wont know.

The fight isn't over, nor is the legal aspect of it. One thing is for sure people need to be quiet over what they are doing to fight their matters in court.

I hope they scrap the buy back and simply go for confiscation.

More non -compliance that way

MAKE them show up to take them.

All the Liberals prove with a buy back is that you can be bought.

"Buyback" by definition is a mutual agreement.
"Mandatory buyback" is pure bullshiite.

Since none of us purchased firearms from the government, they can't buy them back. Simple.

Any idea what would happen if you surrendered a stripped lower instead of rhe entire rifle?

$1337 for a stripped M&P15 lower puts a good down payment on a 3d printer….
