Just bought a new unit. I don’t really understand what I am seeing on the screen. Would thre be a video that explains this. I have looked but I can’t seem to find what I want. eg. horizontal and vertical lines on screen. Elongated arches etc. I think it did track my leather man falling to 130’ in Cold Lake🤡

post a screen shot and I can probably tell you. Arches could be fish. A horizontal line is likely the thermocline - leave sensitivity on auto. You can turn it down and clean it up, but might miss some details.

Used one a little bit this past summer for the first time. Pretty impressive units to be honest. Make sure the auto zoom is off for sure. A fellow could get a pretty negative impression with that little sucker in active.

Once you understand how this little unit works they are great, I have had one for three years now for ice fishing and in my kayak.
Watch the videos then play with it, awesome little unit with great battery life too.

What do you normally have your Gain set at? Do you leave it on Auto Gain, or do you adjust it each time you use it?

I just leave it on auto. At high speed it seems to lose the bottom and I only see a white screen with the numerical display in the top left of the screen.

That’s typical for most transducers, regardless of brand, if the transducer is a bit too high on the transom or it has turbulent water pass over it at speed. You can try moving it lower, bit by bit, and see if that helps keep depth at speed. You may end up getting more water spray as a result though.

I adjust my 2D Bird transducer to read depth upto around 45 mph. It loses bottom reading above that though. At 58 mph it just reads “1.5 feet” for depth.

Strap in we are looking for structure and marks at 50mph,

Ya you got a hell of a rig there!

I was using the striker one and forgot to pull the suction cup and transducer off and place it in the boat well at 25mph it came off the hull hit the fast water bounced up and into the boat just missing the two of us!

So now if I use it in conjunction with my main fish finder I pull the transducer out of the water when going fast.

I can understand that. My transducer is fixed to the transom with screws. I plan to remove it for ice fishing. Thanks

When you do remove it you may want to consider filling the holes and attaching a transducer plate to your transom instead. That allows you to move the transducer around, swap them out, and adjust without putting more holes in your transom.

It’s great to locate structure on big bodies of water. There are quite a few times where I’m flying across an open body of water and all of a sudden I pick up on something that I had no idea was there. This pic is from just the other day.

When you leave it on Auto, can you see your jig when it’s directly below the transducer? I just seem to get interference on mine??

I know when ice fishing i can see jigs up to 150ft. i cant see why it would be any different during the summer.

I have had my for 6 years now. I have mine set to auto low but will switch auto modes depending on what I am fishing for. I enabled a-scope, its little flasher bar next to the main graph. Other changes I made were just cosmetic.
