Had to post. Touched home again as a friend’s family is now in the middle of a new journey.

People. Please ask your doctor for a FIT test at a minimum. Don’t delay getting a colonoscopy at age 50. Age 40 with family history.

Time is on your side by being proactive.

Great news, even in Alberta you can eventually get into a hospital for colonoscopy if you wait long enough.

They should give you a report. Warning however. The photos are not Christmas card compatible.

Friend of mine was just told he was positive for prostate cancer....given the option of surgery in Red Deer or laparoscopy in Edmonton?

I had mine removed in Edmonton at Royal Alex it was a robotic procedure called da vainci. I'm glad I went with that procedure, there is some side effects but nothing you can't live with.

That's definitely the way he's leaning. Did they take out any lymph nodes as well?

Yes, they removed lymph nodes all around.
