Default Powder Locator

Thought with all the shortages, maybe this will help someone out

Trapper Gords had IMR4350@$80 and IMR4831@$70 on July 3rd. Max 1lb per powder per customer.

If anyone finds H1000 or H4831 I'd sure appreciate a heads up.

Varget is showing as in stock at Cabelas North. I suspect it won’t last long.

Sadly, up until this latest batch of powder insanity Henry at Budget generally had very good pricing…

Thanks Leo. Needed some H1000 and 7828SSC for load development on the new 338-378, so that worked out great. $74 for 7828 and 79 for the H1000.

Happy I could help. Yes, they are out of H1000, you bought the last can. Cabelas Edmonton north has Varget and 3031 at $85 a pound. If anyone wants some call in and pay over the phone. It is going tres fast.

That list of banned powders scares the hell out of me. That’s how they are going to get us in my opinion. A guns no good without a bullet.
I thought I was done hoarding, maybe not.

The widespread distribution of toxic chemicals and the body burden that we carry, and that our children and Grandchildren carry, scares hell out of me.
European produced powders, including Alliant and some Hodgdon, Accurate types are all REACH compliant.
North American manufacturing has not taken advantage of the chemical alternatives for reloading powder deterrents, and apparently doesn't care about the European market.
It is no conspiracy against reloading.

Thanks for educating us booknut. I had to look up REACH compliance. Good to know there are safe alternatives but there are some pretty popular powders on that list. One line I picked up on is that you come under the reach Microscope if you use quantities over one tonne per year. My stockpile isn’t quite that big.
All joking aside it’s one more reason to thoroughly wash up after a stint at the reloading bench. I always do because of the nasties that are in used primers.

If you search diligently, and are lucky enough to find someone like I did...

You can get yourself deals like 4.5 lbs of IMR 4350 for $50 a pound. !
