Default Snare press

I’m having trouble finding a snare press. Both the Big Red snare press and Big Blue seem to be out of stock everywhere I look. My question for those of you who have made Ram replacement snares: Will a standard arbor press work for compressing the heat treated nuts?

I was never a big fan of the steel nuts, were good once installed properly but was simply better and more effective to build with a single stop + snare washer, snare washer riding cable and positioned between the aluminum stop and trigger notch mechanism on the ram when set.

I do all my Loops and Ferrules first with a hammer on a anvil. And leave the Ram nut for last. Then I take the Ram nut in a 6” vice and squish it tight. Works for me and I end up with the same quality.
