Default 6.5 300 weatherby mag

Looking to step up out of my 30-06 into something with a little more reach. Was thinking 7mm R.E.M. Mag then I came across this cartridge. Anybody have one of these that would like to shed some light??

It’s by and it will reach out but there are others as well.
Braked or un braked?
Moose and elk as well as deer?
Still hunting or stand hunting?
Max range?
Lots of questions

Hey cat. Was thinking with brake. All heavier hunting. I use my 25-06 on deer. No stand hunting. All on foot

And 7mm mag is about the heaviest I’d go to. That’s why this 6.5-300 caught my eye

Well is certainly can throw those big long bullets at distance!
With a brake it would not be an issue , but then neither would something like a 338 Ultra or Lapua and you get high BC, and big weight as well!
I would likely go that route if I was planning on hunting big stuff.

If your planning on hunting moose and elk at extended ranges you would want a 338
6.5-300 wby would replace your 25/06 and could be used for elk or moose in a pinch
But if your getting a dedicated rifle for that
338 all the way

Default 300 prc

Might look at a 300 PRC as well. 212 ELD-X at 2900fps using factory. 1400 foot pounds of energy at 1000 m
