Default 280 Rem loading suggestions.

I'm about to start loading for a 280 Rem and wonder if anyone has a favorite powder they'd recommend as a good starting point. Rifle has a 26" barrel and I'm planning to start with 140 grn bullets.

Thanks

Phil I have been shooting/ hunting with the .280 fo 20 + years.
My go to rifle is a Remington Mountain rifle in .280
The load I have found my rifle likes best is 56.8 grains of IMR 4350, with a 139 grain Hornady .This load is giving me 5 shots into 1 inch at just underr 300 fps chronographed. Realize of course your firearm my have its own personality and require different loads.
Hope this helps, if I can be of any further help pm me

Ian

Default 280 Rem

Thanks Ian. I have loaded 4350 in my 30-06 and 300 Win Mag. I recently switched to H1000 in the 300.

I was wondering if anyone had found some of the newer powders working any better in the 280's.

Near max load (58grs) of H4831 and Nosler 140 Partition, very accurate, very hard hitting.
