Some time ago I traded Clay at Prophet River a Greener shotgun for a Trapper 1885 .
However, the Trapper not suiting my whim at the time, I decided to switch it out for a B78 butt stock I had . I had acquired a stock set for a Browning B78 so I could take the butt and install it on my son's B78. He is very tall and the extended one I put on there through off the balance of it. However, it fits me perfectly, so I took the extra forend piece I bought and put it on my 1885 . That took me all afternoon and a bit of time after supper.
For thoose nnot familiar, the B78 butt stock has no tang, and the 1885 does so this is a bit of work to get it too fit especially into a factory finished stock
The Trapper was previously re-barreled by Ron Smith for me, and yesterday I got around to inletting my son's B78 stock to fit the trapper1885, which is now turned into a really nice hunting rifle in 260 Remington!
All I need to do now is get a grind to fit pad so it will match up properly.
Just looking at the picture, I realized the saddle ring on the receiver would be perfect for a single point tactical sling thing so I could be extra stealthy sneaking through the bushes !

This is about 3/4 of the way done.
