Default High speed retrieval reel

I you like long-line trolling your fly, you might be interested in Costco's Amundson 4 pc 8 wt rod and 8 wt hi-speed reel, along with some nice accessories - all for $200.

I've got their 8 weight, and their 6 wt rods & reels, and they're great for quickly retrieving your fly when your entire line is out trolling behind you.

Please pray tell..... What would be the retrieve ratio on the reel? Does the handle turn when line is pulled out?

Multiplier fly reels are a rare beast.

the cheetahs are a 2.3:1 ratio, don't think the handle moves while line is pulled out as it slips on the drag but I could be wrong

Sorry Jayhad, wrong on both counts! I just took a look and on both of my Cheetah reels, the gear ratio is 2.6:1, and the handles do move when line is pulled out.

I used Amundsen's site on the ratio, I was clearly wrong on handle. thank you for the clarity.
