Sask lake question
I am looking for advice for a drive to lake in Saskatchewan that is about 5-6 hr drive from Edmonton. I have been to the eastern side Mirond/Jan but was looking for a spot that is a little closer. Plan on cooking own meals so main points are good walleye/pike fishing, clean cabins and good boats. Interested to hear from people that have stayed at and recommend lodges/lakes. All input is welcome as it helps to research better.

Dore Lake, Tower Lodge
About as easy as it gets, and some very good fishing right in front of the lodge!

That part about needing a boat will seriously hamper you in your quest. Not many places have boat rentals. It is my belief that you can rent a pontoon at Chitek. Search 'boat rentals Saskatchewan'. Not many options.

I haven’t been in a few years.... wait, wow make that about 15 years.
Dang, time flies. Anyway, waterhen lake used to be pretty good, they “had” boat rentals and rudimentary cabins. If you have kids there’s other lakes in the park that you can drive to easily for some beach time.

No argument here but in fairness you did say '5 or 6 hours' from Edmonton. Saskatoon is 5 if you hurry (there is no fishing there) and Dore Lake, while I admit there is a chance you can rent a boat there, it is a little more than 6 hours. Lots of places may rent boats. My Bing search yielded nothing and my guess would be the fly-in places don't fit into your drive to idea.
Not to mention that this response would indicate you had your answer before you asked.

With apologies
With a little looking I found two resorts/ camping with boat rentals at Lac des Isles in Meadow Lake Provincial Park that fit your parameters: Big Island Cove and Northern Cross resorts. That's a tough lake to fish but in rough weather you can hide out on the east side of Big Island. Happy trails.

Fished Lac des Isles in 2019 with my bro and grandson. We had a good time. Caught some nice walleye but they weren't biting as good as we would have liked. We had a feed or two of fresh walleye and brought at least 4 home. Could have been better, but could have been worse too.
We rented a cabin there for a reasonable rate. Didn't have to rent a boat as my bro brought his (he lives in Saskatoon). I don't remember offhand who we rented from but if you decide to go there, PM me (might take me a couple days to get back to you, I'm not on here every day) and I'll let you know who we rented from and tell you where we caught our walleye.

Dore has lots of big fish. Time of year and weather play a big role in regards to which parts of the lake you’ll catch them and how the bite will be. We went last year the first week of June and caught a handful of pike in the 10-15 pound range and one 25 pounder. Lots of 5-7 pound walleye in South Bay.
Tower Lodge does rent an 18’ Lund for $250/day FYI. It’s about 6.5-7 hours from Edmonton.
