Default firearms license renewal

Went online to renew my license last night. Got to say, that was so simple. Didn't even take a couple minutes to complete. Nice.

I just did mine too! I agree super easy, it’s not due till October but I want to make sure I have it so I renewed early.

I renewed mine online in late November - it took just over 2 months to get the card back in the mail, but I guess considering that's over the Christmas and New Year Holidays, that's not too bad. It seems like most people get their card back in a couple of weeks.

I submitted mine last week. I am hopeful it is a short process doing it online. I received an email saying they are 4 months behind, so the countdown is on.

Did mine the other month online. Wasn't happy that you have to give them Access into your bank account....they already had access, but now its more legal.

As long as you don't let your PAL expire for more than 6 months, it is usually painless, unless the CFO decides to mess around because you have firearms registered to you.

I did mine back onDecember 10. December 31 I had the new card in my hand. As soon as I completed my renewal I scanned and emailed my range membership to the cfo.

That's a good point. I forgot about that. Where does one find the email address for the cfo?

Submitted mine, they already hit my card, got the reference number and sent them proof of range membership... hopefully it goes quickly.

I just purchased my first restricted and while I was on the phone with the CFO I asked if I should renew my license, even, though it doesn't expire till the end of this year. She said not to and wait a bit cause it wont be a hassle for renewals. For people applying for a new license though that could up to 6 months now. She blamed it on Covid

Same experience as some of the others above. I heard about the huge delays. Have an April expiry and they usually allow applications 6 months prior. Applied by online renewal at the end of Nov to be safe. New card arrived 2 weeks later, no problem. Was quite surprised.

It was convenient and fast. Not what I normally expect with our federal government.

^^ Wow, that is fast. I just logged in to check the status to see "Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued". That's 17 days from when I submitted the renewal.

Received mine in the mail today. It’s funny that they still have these paper conditions that we have to keep with the license. Oh well, can’t complain about the turn around time.

2 1/2 months to renew. The cfo office fax wouldn’t receive my fax ,so I had to mail it snail mail, registered. Upon receipt, they requested copy of my shooting club membership to validate my restricted requirement. Done deal.

See the email in post #9?
And see what Lefty did in post #10?

That’s how it’s done!

Default firearms license renewal

I also submitted renewed my FAC license as well had a problem with the photo part of the form, I had to resize the photo and my windows 10 photo app is not very user friendly.
I miss my windows seven program, any ways it took me a couple of hours to get the photo right and the rest was easy.

By the time Windows 10 came out, the FAC hadn't existed for many years.

Mine expires in August. Is there a time frame before you can re-new. Like not before 60 days of expiry date / Or.....??
Thank-you

You can apply to renew up to a year in advance. I always apply at least six months in advance, and I have had renewals as quick as 3 weeks, and as long as 5-1/2 ,months

Renewed mine online last year a day before it expired and received it back in 4 weeks...

In the past I have renewed months in advance and it took longer. Go figure...

Exactly. If you have restricted/prohibited, send in your gun club membership. It can be attached to your application once it is completed.

Mine is due in May. I renewed in December. 17 days I had mine new licence in hand!
