Default How big do lynx get ?

As the season closes on the 15 for me Just curious to know how big do Tom lynx get? End of January start of feb is when I catch the biggest ones when toms are looking for females. Last year I caught my biggest at 38 pounds. Previous years including this year I have caught quite a few in the 32-34 pound range. I will try an post some pics.

The biggest one we ever caught was bought back for 3 years, then sold in the NAFA sale, check was no good.

Biggest one I have seen was from a trapper up north and the picture of it on the scale it was 40lbs on the nose. Jokingly I asked him what he put in it to get it to weigh that much.

I believe in the book, “Bobcats of North America” there was reference of a largest bobcat weighed ever on record coming in at 69 lbs, a freak of nature as the next closest was only in the 50’s...

...only!!!

Then theres the Siberian Lynx which looks just like our Canadian Lynx but are grand scale massive. Id have to really dig to find pictures from a NAFA sale cuz i dont know which one. Point is the skin of the Siberian version was likely 1.5x the size of an XL Canadian Lynx.

Much longer knapped, much thicker hair... an utterly incredible skin. The novelty peoplle scooped them up at big price at that sale. Think i seen them there two years in a row and not again.
