Crosman 1400 pump up 22air rifle
Just acquired one of these a few days ago. Made between 72-78. In pretty good shape overall. Took it all apart cuz it wasn’t ‘pumping up.’ You could hear the pressure going thro a valve and coming out the barrel.
Everything I found to do with this piece says parts are not available. So I’m wondering if anyone has found a source, or has had any success in getting these guns to work again. The critical pieces I’m looking for are a tiny piece of hose that connects the compression chamber to the combustion chamber. As well as an o-ring that fits inside a cup that releases the pressure in the compression chamber when the trigger is pulled.
It’d be a shame to relegate this to a basket

failing that
I know an airgun smith in Red Deer that may be able to make parts if he's willing?

That was most helpful. Thank you very much! Got a rebuild kit coming.

I had one in the 70's as a kid but it got stolen. As a teen I bought another with money earned working ($1 per hour) for the neighbours. Still have that one and another parts gun. Many fond memories and more than a few grouse...
My eyes don't like iron sights much anymore, may have to build a peep sight
for the rear.
Lots of good info on performance mods on Mr. Google.

Do you remember how much you paid for it? I had a couple pellet guns too, but they were the break action spring type, not the pump up like this one is. I think they were Daisy. And they came from McLeods Hardware store. Mid to late 60’s. Seems to me they were $15 or $18. Might be wrong on that price, but if that’s what it was, the rebuild kit for this 1400 is more that double that. How times have changed.

Pretty sure it was in the $15-20 range...that was 50 years ago!
One odd characteristic of the 1400 is the more you pump it the harder the trigger pull.
