child/youth summer camps
Hello,
My daughter will be attending a week long camp this summer, shes 13. this camp trains and provides her fire arms training/license, as well as hunters ed, survival training, swimming, canoeing, etc. Shes very excited, and im quit happy to send her.
I have twin boys turning 10 this summer, they would like to attend some sort of camp too.
Just wondering if any folks here can recomend a fun camp for a couple of boys? Maybe a week long thing, near edmonton. We do alot of camping and fishing as a family. But they want to get away from mom and dad for a bit, and me and mom would like to get away from them for a week as well. Lol.
Something to get them outdoors away from phones, computers etc.
If any of you have positive experiences with your children attending a camp, i would love to hear about it.
Thank you,
Moose

My parents used to send me to Camp Warwa out on Lac Ste Anne and I loved it. Mind you this was about 20 years ago but I know that it is still in operation.

We sent our daughter to Camp Maskepetoon at Pigeon Lake a couple of summers ago for a week when she was 11. She didn't know a soul when we dropped her off at the bus, but she did enjoy the camp and made quite a few friends.

It's still around? Went there for years as a kid, some of the best times of my childhood. Absolutely loved it, worth a trip to go have a look.

I help out at camp teepeepole out west of sundre, it’s a more rugged camp than most and we focus on outdoor activities. Shooting (from 22 up to high powered and shotgun depending on age, archery, fishing, mountain climbing/rappelling, canoeing, outdoor education.... it’s a great camp
