Neat Places To Visit In Our Backyard
Just read about a meteorite that sold for $275000 at auction. Made me think about the guys that collect bits from the Whitecourt impact site. That got me to thinking that a lot of folks don't know about it, let alone visit the site. It was just confirmed as an impact site in '08. I was going to add a link, but just google it, tons of info pops up about it.
There must be more unique spots off the beaten path around the province. Lets share a few...

T-bone steak cooked just the way you like it (cook it yourself) at the hotel in beautiful downtown Patricia Alberta.

One Island Lake which is actually in BC but very near the border, South of Dawson Creek, is said to have been created by a meteorite, not sure of this, but there are some football Brookies there and that is for sure.

Cypress hills gap road
Take a drive on the gap road between Elkwater AB to Ft. Walsh SK. beautiful scenery lots of wildlife then take a step back in time with the Ft. Walsh tour
The Gap Road. To drive west on the Gap Road, which is also part of the Trans-Canada Trail, is a challenge in itself. The road has plenty of large rocks and potholes and, as a result, is bad enough that drivers have to go around 20 km an hour. It can take up to an hour and a half to get to Fort Walsh this way. However, the reward is a series of switchbacks featuring hairpin turns at angles much less than 90 degrees.
