Default Central AB Rut activity updates?

Can anyone give any updates on what they have seen around central Alberta for rut activity? Is it heating up? Any one called or rattled any bucks in? What seems to work for you? Any tips or pointers would be great.

Thats my problem here is that there is another fella here doing just that and it is screwing it all up by pushing everything around. Im on a single 1/4 of bush and open and posted on four sides by acreages. Playing the romantic hunter here is a mistake

Was out yesterday and daybefore had bucks pushing the does around and grunting as he was doing it,the one that came out into the field was a nice 170s ,I think 6x6, was watching him and hoping maybe getting a shot at 258 yards( seeing if he would stop moving or get closer, until someone on the next field drove around the edge and scared them into the bush.yesterday had does come into the field had a buck grunting and chasing somthing until I heard the fence spring as he must have went to the field behind, then a valley thunder shot

When I was chasing deer around last weekend, found several bucks following does around. It's definitely started....

If you do get a buck make sure you take a photo and put it out there on the line.

He was on a doe....saw two smaller 5x5s yesterday with does.

Trail cam pics from this past weekend were does 1st followed soon after by the buck pics. IMO the larger bucks are starting to stay closer to the does in case one comes into heat but my guess is you won't start seeing a bit of chasing until this weekend or next week. As it's been stated before though, every deer herd is different......

Yeah I hear you, a spot can be slow for awhile and then one day it's like somebody flipped a switch. Bucks start showing up that you never even knew existed, exciting to say the least!!!

You are aware that the herd dynamics for the herd of deer I'm watching will be different from the herd you are watching.

Therefore the intensity and resulting herd behaviour will be different.

Fwiw: the little guys here are trying but being ignored.
