gear upgrade for fellow member
was fishing wab. a week ago with a fellow ao member in search of that monster pike. we were discussing the gear and tackle that he was using. i was at wss today and with the expert help of fishergrrrl who also knows this member we put together a pkg. that i'm sure will delight him. i can almost hear him yelling YEEHAH when he sees this. i'm sure this will now be his "go to" gear. no need for thanks buddy.

spool it with 20 pound braid and show them how to catch fish! still want to have a gettogether down here on the ice sometime, all novelty rods and donate them to kids when we are done with them. toss in a few bucks for the winner and party on!

Haha. We had a small kayak fishing cash tourny / get together at the end of september. I was in 4th place so I pulled out my secret weapon. A Disney Princess rod i spooled with 45lb braid and a 60lb hand tied fluro leader. I ended up in a tie for first place with that little rod. Lol. Easy to cast a long distance with them. Just hard to reel in. No gearing. Lol

Should've went with the Dora the explorer model. We were smoking 8-10 pounders with it at edberg bridge few years ago. Still had the crap line on it too! I'm sure Barbie can handle the big ones though! Thats a great gag gift! Lmfao

Barbie still looks good after all the years, so if the rod looks good after slaying pike this winter at Wab, i'll take it. Just have to wipe all the slime and sticky stuff off her once im done abusing her. Lol

Looks like JTS1 isnt alone on pink rods now . Perhaps its a City guy thing  .
On a side note a few years ago took a a fella and his son out fishin and had a Shrek rod geared up for him , stripped the line changed it to braid . And he hauled in this gator , Fish was bigger then he was .

actually that fish was dead and taken home , took it out of the boat and put on the ground as I left the camera in the truck , but thanks for your input
