Default Out of Province Inspection

I'm selling one of my vehicles and buyer is a guy from another province. He wants me to do Pre-purchase Inspection and he pays for it, which is OK. Also he wants me to do Safety Out of Province Inspection here in AB to use it for registration of the vehicle IN HIS PROVINCE OF RESIDENCE.
Is it valid requirement?
Thank you.

Default Contact the province the vehicle is to be registered in.

See if they will accept Alberta’s OOP inspection.

I would bet against it.

I suspect they will want their inspection to allow it to be registered in their province.

If buyer wants it, he should figure out how valuable it is to him.

if it's Saskatchewan short answer is no, only SGI authorized inspections are accepted

I can understand why a legitimate out of province buyer would want an inspection done on the vehicle they were purchasing.

I doubt though that other provinces would accept an inspection report from a different province. The point being though if the vehicle is fit to pass in AB it is likely for or nearly so in SK, MB or whatever other province.

An out of province inspection done in Alberta has no value to the buyer if he is in another province. The idea being you import the vehicle to said province and they approve it to be road worthy to the provinces standard.

An example would be in Alberta they are not gonna do an emissions check but B.C. will.

And why two inspections. Seems redundant and a waste of money.

Why not choose three inspection facilities that you would be willing to take the vehicle to and provide the buyer with the names to check out or contact them. Then he chooses one of the three he is comfortable with. And then have them do ONE out of province inspection. As it will check mark anything a pre purchase inspection would. At his cost not yours.

Thank you, guys, for your opinion.
Today I phoned some shops I used before, and they said: no we don't do out of province inspection anymore.
I've imported a few vehicles from Europe, Japan and from other provinces of Canada, and never asked anybody to do it for me. I'm not going to do it for somebody now.

I was able to register an Alberta bought and inspected car in SK back when I was in university. I was out here for school and using SK registration, bought car out here and they allowed me to send them an AB OOP inspection rather than driving it back to SK to be inspected. SK requirements appear to have changed in 2010 with the "New West Partnership" though.
