Well its been a good year for me so far. Folded Whitetail General about 25 minutes into the season on a doe. Normally I'd have waited for a buck but I expected a busy November with a Mule draw, as well as Moose and Elk. Well I got my Mule deer season opening night, and I just dropped a moose this afternoon. Hopefully get my Elk next week, to make this my best hunting season yet. It's just been amazing, and this year with things tight for us the meat will go a long way towards feeding the family. Good luck everyone

Pounded a sausage doe at 339 yards tonight. The 300wm with 200gr ELD-X bullets really folds them

Folded my mule deer draw at the end of the day! Rack isn’t crazy but the effort and story were absolutely fantastic!

I noticed a .303 Ruger 1A in he exchange, hope it sells soon or I may be tempted to buy it just because!

I'm betting a 303 lol. That is a trophy moose in my books. Years worth of pot roasts, schnitzel and tender grilled steaks. Nice!

I've never shot or eaten a calf. Wondering if they are fork tender and tasty as I imagine they are? Congratulations on some great table fare.

Knew he existed and had high hopes but never thought it would happen. The story might have to wait, there's some folks who want to publish it first

Default I learned a lesson

You have to get him out of there! Finally got drawn in the 305, shot this guy in a steep coulee just over the hill from the ancestral homestead. Only a 800m drag downhill, glad to have my cousin helping me.

About 10 or 12 years ago back in Sask was hunting with this old boy (one of dads friends) we had non-trophy (antlerless) tags. Dad and I shot a cow and calf pair. The old boy come along and said “why did you guys shoot the calf that meat will be no good it will be just like mashed potatoes” lol. It was excellent meat so tender not as tender as mashed potatoes but I can remember eating the steaks cutting them with a fork no knife required.

My boy got his first doe and big game animal all be himself. He found where the deer were crossing frequently and wanted to go set up there. I told him to go give it a try but if you shoot something mark where it was and don’t follow it. A half hour later the tell tale BOOM WACK so I headed off in his direction. I could hear the excitement in him from over four hundred yards away. I didn’t have to track it dad she dropped right in her tracks was repeated numerous times on the way to his prize. One happy boy!!!

Big milestone for an outdoors kid getting his first kill.
