Default 2020 Rifle Harvest Thread

Hey All,

Thought I would add a thread for AO'ers to add their harvest pictures in for rifle season... season has been open for more than a week here in SW corner of the province and hardly seeing any success.

Hopefully guys are just a little shy about starting their own thread and this will prod them to put up some pictures.

Good luck all.

DR

Northern zone open Sep 17.
Same oat field about a month apart. First Bear in Sep and first elk in Oct.

Tikka in elk photo was used for both (walked up to bear without rifle and friend thought I should check it with his before I got beside it)
Bob Jury 30-06 barrel, Bell & Carlson stock, trusty Leupold 3.5-10x40, 180gr Swift Scirocco, and my new lucky hat!!!

Very happy with the Mulie buck my son got last night and so is he. So glad I was there with him. He used his Tikka 308 loaded up with 165 accubonds & varget. The entire evening just played out perfect. Proud Dad here!

Default My Dad and His deer

My dad got drawn for a Mule deer this year. He is a senior at the ripe old age of 77 years young. He has a few health problems but he was a trooper and we got him out to harvest a nice animal.

He made a great shot at 243 yards (confirmed by range finder). He did it free hand.

I am very proud of the ole fella to be hunting at his age.

His rifle is a Husqvarna 30/06 and I think he was shooting 150 gr

It was a perfect day weather wise. We had a ton of help from a friend and If you ever see this post, we cant thank you enough for all you did. Great day that I will remember the rest of my life.

Thanks! Not your typical trophy/quarry most people think of when one hits the bush to hunt with a draw tag , for sure .
For me however it is always meat first and the area I hunt has a very sustainable moose population that can warrant a calf draw as opposed to an antlerless draw

You should be on the cover of Field and Stream with that hat, shirt, and moustache...

Nice job Cat. That's gonna be tender like veal!
