Default Chipotl peppers

A few years ago I lucked into some cans of La Costena brand chipotl peppers. Really got to like them. But, after a few years, that store doesn't carry them any more and they tell me they are unavailable. I have checked the interweb and can't find them.

If any one knows of a place that carries them or can get them in, I would sure appreciate it.

google with quotation marks > "La Costena" Chipotle < and all the places that carry them pop up, but you gotta use quotation marks.

Hate it when products I like get discontinued or test stocked

I have googled them and found them listed, but when I check the stores, they are not available. Walmart, Superstore, Loblaws for a start.

This is the CEO's email, write him a really good made in Saskatchewan heartfelt letter about not being able to get through winter in Canada without La Costena Chipotle and wonder if someone can ship you some until your local store (name store) gets some in.

santiago.castro@lacostena.com.mx

or this gal, she's in charge of exhibition products

Thanks for the address, a pot of chili just isn't the same without some.

Superstore will have them in stock then they disappear for a few months then come back again. Same with Safeway.
I asked a manager in the summer about them and I cant remember the exact details on why they stopped for a bit. But I seemed like a temporary stop for stocking them.

So... check again and hopefully they are back where you are.

Forgive the thread derail, but my buddies pepper crop came in great this year and he just sent me a care package. Going to be some spicy cooking going on in our house this year!

The Silk Road Spice Merchants sell a very good chipotle pepper. It's ground. I have to have that for my homemade honey mustard.

I found a small can of "Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce" from Casa Fiesta, in Sobeys about a month ago. I have a picture but can't get it on here.

Chipotle peppers are basically ripened (not green) jalapeno peppers, smoked, dried and rehydrated. This is a lot of trouble to do on your own instead of opening up a can - but interesting nevertheless …

I have talked to the manager of the Superstore in Lloydminster about these peppers a few times. The website lists them. He says there is a problem with the warehouse system with his company and they may be available to some stores, they are not available to his store.

Buy them dried. Add water and Bob is your uncle.

Never tried your brand of chipolte peppers but I use Casa Fiesta from Sobeys in sylvan lake. Love them. BEL
