Default Necking up or down/changing calibres

me and another dude are interested in how do you /or whats the best way to neck brass to the 300H&H???

300H&H,8mm rem mag and the 7mm STW are all just necked down versions of the 375 right???

so what would be better going up or down??? in one step or do an intermediate or something??? anybody make 300 H&H this way? in my minds eye youd want to go up so you wouldnt have to ream correct???the 7 mm STW is probably way more hard to come by than 300 H&H though right???so that means necking down 375 H&H (cause the 8mm RM is a fossil too)?

ill try my utmost to get 300 brass, but.......

Virtually all the belted magnums these days are from a basic case, the 375 H&H.
Ellwood Epps sells cases however, and this would be the way to go IMO, simply because of the taper of the 300H&H case.
You can reach them at (705) 689 5333.

Sadly thats how it is...for some of the exotic cartridges. For example in a .240 WBY it is economical sometimes to buy the least expensive ammo and shoot it ($54.00 a box) to fireform (Weatherby branded ammo but uses Norma brass), then it is to buy virgin brass ($45.00 a box) and load it and still not be fireformed.

In your case given the above comments I'd match headstamps to the chamber designation on the barrel.

Nosler brass varies with the particular chambering, due to the fact that more than one company are producing brass for Nosler. The 280AI brass(supposedly made by Norma) that I am using is very uniform and consistent, but I have seen some sub par 300win mag brass that was sold by Nosler.
