Flames really deserved to win that game, shots 48-29 thru OT in their favor, played a solid 60 minute game. I have no idea what Johnny was thinking during the shoot out, winner on his stick and he looked wretched, didn't even get a shot off...oh well, I guess it's a needed point. And it was a good game to watch, best OT I've seen this year for heart stoppage.

Play a solid 65 minutes and then half the shooters miss the net in the SO.

Tkachuk has scored in the last three shoot outs, he's fantastic. Don't know why they threw Johnny in for it though, he never seems to get it done. I would have put Frolik in instead of him or Backlund, but I'm not the coach either

If the effort in the last few games persists, I'd be willing to 2nd your nomination if required.

Calgary had the win. 47 shots. Excellent offence. Tchachuk giving goalie a few love taps. Good work.

Wow! First time since Wideman hit Henderson that the Flames ever had a goal review go in their favor! Coach did have to challenge, but it's a tie game at least!

I defiantely like what I see in Rittich so far in his two games...Hopefully he keeps it up...I see some nice confidence in him as well.

Whoooop! How many times has Monahan scored the OT winner! Well deserved win right there.

Nice win...they seem to be so much better on the road than in the dome...Maybe Gully should always let the other guys pick the lines first

I'm sure they could play better and win games at home if they had a nice big new shiny arena paid for by the taxpayers.....look how well that is working out in Edmonton!

So far the new arena has gotten them to western conference finals.....first year.....and..... maybe you do need a new arena. How’s the home record this year?

The only record that counts is the points they have at the end of the season, and so far the team with the old arena, has more points than the team with the new arena.

But it is not the end of the season yet........ your statement contradicts itself.

I think we(Flames) are 7 and 8 at home
Oilers are 5 and 8 at home

So I guess you better hope the Oilers win there next two home games, or their record will be worse then ours and we don't have a new barn

All the same, Flames do need a new arena. Saddledome is old and been good and flooded once....just not on the taxpayers dime.

I agree we need a new arena, I also believe the Billionaire owners should be able to front the bill. That said if the government is going to blow my tax dollars on artwork and other projects that make no difference to me, they might as well spend some of that on a new arena.

As of today, maybe the Seattle Flames will have a newer arena

I don't see it. If (when) Seattle gets a team, Bettman already called it expansion, and won't play till 2020/21 season.

But the Flames will need a new arena to stay I believe. If there is no deal where ownership can bend the city taxpayer over.....maybe they go to Quebec, the new Nordiques? Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants. I think Bettman wants to leave Canadian franchises in Canada, they all make money.

The Flames have their arena issues, but the NHL will deal with the attendance issues of Arizona, Carolina and Florida first.

I thought this was interesting.

The Calgary Flames are no longer contributors to NHL revenue sharing.
In fact, the team will be on the receiving end this season, according to Flames president and CEO Ken King...

The only reason is the dollar dropped so much, they might be receiving a cheque, but they are still a very profitable organization.

I believe the flames are posturing and waiting for the Olympic bid before they make another mood. If Calgary gets the Olympics there will be a lot of public Money for facilities including a new arena.

Nothing will happen to the Flames for 2 years. If we don't have a deal in 2 years I believe they will be in a position to leave.

Hard to say. The flames owners are getting old and maybe they want to cash out.

Phoenix, Carolina, and Florida seem the top teams to move first with their dwindling ticket sales. Edmonton just got a new arena so they aren't going anywhere. City wise or in the standings.

Now that was a hard fought and we'll earned win. Especially after that terrible call on Gio for holding the stick....anyway, that's a solid home ice win.
