Default memories... coyote snaring

Thought I'd wake up fellow trappers and share photos of the day I POWER SNARED a male coyote on my tire tracks in flat open country.
I travelled the same tire tracks every other day and noticed the coyotes tracks every time. I set-up a WOLFMASTER on one tire track camouflaged with some local tumble weeds.

One photo shows the fresh coyote tracks on new fresh snow on the tire tracks

Very cool to see that strategy worked well for you!

Good catch , I've had the same thing in my tracks here in the wide open and have wanted to try that but never have ..maybe this year ..however I don't have any power snares and have been afraid that with only the kill springs it may not be enough to prevent a chewoff without some entanglement, maybe add a kill pole ? Did you catch him soon after setup or did it take a few days ,wondering because it would be apparent that you have to reset each time after passing thru or make new tracks ..
Out here with the eagles it will likely be a dinner donation but would still like to try .

Back near the end of my snaring career I tried something similar. I used to go to extremes to hide my snares. This day I thought "what the hay ??" Leave it in the wide open and see what happens.

And overnight....
