JOB POSTING
RANGE MANAGER
The Spruce Grove Gun Club is soliciting applications for the position of Range Manager, for
immediate employment. Numerous volunteers contribute greatly to the organization and operation of
the Range, but a permanent on-site paid staff member is required to look after the day to day
operations and coordination of tasks.
Range Manager Duties Will Include (but not be limited to) :
a) assisting members and providing guidance to ensure a safe and enjoyable shooting range
b) coordination of volunteers and their projects
c) coordination of contractors and their projects
d) coordination of grass mowing and mower maintenance
e) responsibility for the changing of target stand backboards
f) responsibility for the receiving and storage of materials
g) updating the gate computer system with member data
h) printing and issuance of member gate access swipe cards
i) coordination with commercial customers regarding range bookings and their use
j) ensuring that the ranges are clean and in good repair
k) coordination of volunteer Range Safety Officers (RSO) to maximize range availability for the
members
l) work as a Range Safety Officer in the absence of volunteers (training will be provided)
m) record keeping of volunteer RSO participation
n) monitor range incidents, review of video logs, referral to the SGGC Board if needed
Hours and Duration of Work :
The initial contract work term will start immediately and will end on November 30, 2014. Renewal of
the work contract will occur 1 April 2015 provided that the RM and SGGC are both agreeable to this.
