Place that makes beaver gauntlets?
Hi everyone,
I am newly moved to Northen Alberta and wondering if anyone knows of a place in Alberta where you could send them beaver pelts and have them turned into gauntlets?
Brand new to hunting and trapping this year so apologies if this is a naive question, haha.
Greatly appreciate the help.
Cheers

Depending upon where you are in N. Alberta, ask some of the locals.

A guy named Paul who lives in the Pass...His wife makes really nice ones. Her name is Rosa. They are members of the SCTA, and he is a member on here, too. I can't recall his forum name though!

I take it you mean Paul Jones? He's kinda hard to get ahold of this time of year. He's a steelhead guide and is busy dragging Americans down the Dean River in a little boat.
Make sure whoever you buy from is using an actual fur machine like a bonis or something.

Right. Paul Jones. And I believe his wife's name is Rosa Hollingshead. The SCTA should be able to put you in touch with her, I would think.

Hey Marty, I was looking at buying my own fur sewing machine to make gloves, hats etc. Was looking at the ones made by TechSew as they are out of Quebec. Any comment on the quality of these machines?

I haven't had anything to do with that brand of machine ever, I just know from looking at the Bonis brand of machines that there are many types of machines designed for different purposes. A machines, B machines and for various thicknesses, heavy leather vs thin. I'm guessing the A machines are for mink and the Bs for everything else, in the Bonis? Mind you I think the ex-Canada Goose guy that I know was sewing coyote strips with an A, it had really thin wheels. Best thing to do would likely be phone the manufacturer and give him a thorough interrogation.
