I'm a old fly tier in Calgary looking for a woodchuck hide. Just used up the last one I shot 10 years ago. Or if anyone has seen them close to my neck of the woods would appreciate ti.

Send me PM with your mailing address and I'll gather up a few patches I have.
I used to tye flys years ago, have some groundhog patchs and maybe a tail or two.
What are you tying ?
Muddler Minnow?
If so I'll throw in a turkey tail feather or two.
We don't have any moose near by down here so I held on to the groundhog
tails to subsitute moose mane.
It had the same curley wherlies as moose mane, same color. :-)
How was a trout to know ? Right :-)
One thing to note about groundhog..
They have an oil that puts out a . stink.
Yup it deffently has a stink to it.
That's most likey why cyotoes and foxes don't eat them.
Any how the patches I've got are about 2o years dried so should not
stink tooo bad. Should be ok to work with to tye flys.
Even the moths did not bother after all these years.
:-)
Stinky ground hogs. :-)
Seriously, send me a PM and I'll send some up to you.
Be good to see them get tied up and catch some fish.
:-)

Thanks Bonescreek,
Much appreciated, I use it mostly for tails and sometimes wings on dry flies. I like the color and they're nice and stiff. Can always use a turkey feather or two. .
