primos shooting sticks
Hey guys,
Do any of you guys have primos shooting sticks (3rd Gen bipod, tripod)? If so, what are your thoughts on them? Are they easy to carry in the backpack? Reliable? Not much preventive maintenance? Easy to deploy from backpack?
Thanks.

I bought the tripod last winter for coyotes, and I used it for ground squirrels in summer, then pronghorn and moose last fall. It adjusts very fast and is very reliable.

I have both the standing and sitting model. For a easy to pack hunting tripod they are great. Fast to deploy easy to carry. My only complaint is if attempting to use them as a precision shooting platform there is too much flex/ wobble in the head due to the length of the grip. I have made a few good long range shots with them out to 800yds or so but they arnt the best I've used for that job

I have short and long trigger sticks. They work pretty good but aren’t as stable as a bipod but quicker than a bipod if you need to change your point of aim.

Suggest you buy one from a retailer where you can actually test out the one you purchase. I've had 2 shipped to me and arrive with very, very slight damage to a leg - which severely affects how they freely deploy - or not.
Also, their 'Suggested Manufacturers Retail' which most outlets charge, is quite high. If you can find an independent retailer who applies their own mark-up%, rather than follow, SMR - you can get a much better deal.

If I didn't already have the Bogpod tripod, I would for sure get the Primos. I freely admit they are a better design.

Used my uncles last year on my white tail I harvested while still hunting, very quick and easy to get on target especially in the bush when a tree is just not close enough before they peg you After i used his I had to buy one. I bought the Gen 3 trigger stick with just the one leg as they are lighter and i mostly still hunt so works well for me. Never had it in a back pack or anything yet though I'm sure it would be like anything else you need quick out of your pack maybe

Thanks for your replies guys.
Going to go to Cabelas today to check one out. Test run it while walking around the store for items.
Almost guaranteed to buy one though
