Default Best mule deer Wmu

Hey all, just wondering if the ministers tag got filled and if there is any pictures:?? Just for fun if you were the lucky one which 3 zones would you spend the most time in looking for a true trophy mule deer.? Personally I'd go with 158, 151, and 305. Let's hear yours.!

Full marks for trying though!
Come pack, throw him a bone.
I'll do it then.

I agree, it's definatley cheaper than trying to locate one here. But if you got a lot of time, patience and money I'm sure you'll find something close to what your looking for! Otherwise go down south to the ''strip'' for Mega muleys!( I will be doing that hunt one day too!)

I know the purchased ministers tag holder hung his tag on a 240" buck. Probably the most unreal buck I've ever laid eyes on. I believe it'll be featured in an upcoming edition of muley crazy.

A big mule can come out of any zone. About 5 years ago a 185BC Mule was taken just south of FT MAC. WMU 519. Thats a big bush buck.

Default Largest Mule Buck

The largest non-typical mule rack in Alberta was taken near Chip lake a few years back. The family had a long court fight over the rack as one of the children had sold it to an American for about $350,000, the judge put him in jail until he produced the rack. The location is near Edson. I believe it is a Canadian record to this day.

Actually it was right in the area where hwy 753 crosses over Bigoray creek north of Cynthia. Cynthia didn`t exist back then, hwy 753 was barely more than a two track skid trail. The nearest landmark was Chip lake to the north of there. Honestly not the best country for muleys, especially big muleys, nothing even close to approaching the size of that deer has ever come out of that area since. That buck was a one in a million freak.

Default Mulies Mulies Mulies

I'm just curious where most people see mule deer in areas like 509,510,511,512,515,516.
Do you see them in the super thick bush or more in the jack pines along power lines, cut blocks, or pipelines.

Ive been looking in areas like that for a few years now and I only ever see whitetails. I'm not looking for massive trophies, just decent bush bucks.

I was always under the assumption that it was killed north of Mackay. Big bush back then, or at least that's the story I've read. I wonder how many times it has changed in the past 90+ years.

In my opinion I think 304 is the best WMU for mules. you will see them everywhere all day. All you need is permission and your set.
