Default gun registry questoin

i heard that the registration for long rifle was put on hold and that if u buy or sell a rifle you dont have to transfer registration just wondering if this is true?

False.
There is a amnesty from prosecution for being in possesion of a un registered non-restricted firearm. That's all.
You wont be charged but said firearm can(and most likely) be seized until such time as the registration is completed.
You still need a valid Firearms Licence(specific to class) to be in possession of any firearm.

Don't count on it. While I'm Tory to the bone, a politician is still a politician - and precious few ever keep their word, especially when it involves surrendering even the slightest bit of control over the population.

As much as I prefer Harper to any alternative, don't forget this is the same guy who promised to not tax income trusts - and broke his word before the echo died away.

If I was betting, I'd lay my money on the registry being here to stay...until some Liberal or ND comes along and confiscates them during some future administration.
