Watched the whole thing. I liked it albeit not exactly what I’d call a classic western either. Started watching Deadwood but I’m still unsure if I’m going to immerse myself in it.

Deadwood ends after season 3, it leaves you hanging. A good series, but it got cancelled before they finished the story. Its too bad as its well written.

Godless is a good miniseries on Netflix. Hell on Wheels is decent except that the last 2 seasons kind of suck, Longmire and that is about it... Not many good westerns lately. While not a western per se, Turn is a good show about the Revolutionary war.

I really enjoyed the early seasons of Hell on Wheels when it was about revenge not politics and rail building. Last few seasons were very "meh".

Longmire was very good. Outside of that cant think of many westerns on there i've watched.

Hell on Wheels was starting to get pretty silly after about season 4 so I quit watching it. The first few seasons were good.

Justified is the best tv show I have ever watched, by a wide margin.

Longmire is pretty good.

As already mentioned, the first few seasons were pretty great.
I have the last season recorded on my cable box. Watched the first episode, and can’t bring myself to watch the rest. (But can’t bring myself to erase it either)

I've been watching westerns for a long time Lonesome Dove is probably my favorite and Return to Lonesome Dove ,The Unforgiven ,The Missing, Jeremiah Johnson, and quite a few of Charles Bronson, and John Wayne's movies, I guess I'm a little spoiled in a way ,you're opinions are greatly appreciated I'll be checking out all of your suggestions.

Just finished reading 'The Earth is Weeping', considered to be one of the most accurate portrayals of the Indians Wars in the U.S. (1860-1890). Much of it was caused by the drive to put the railways through.
Hell on Wheels actually seems to be a pretty accurate series.

If you like Lonesome Dove you will probably like Broken Trail, you can watch it on Youtube.

Loved hell on wheels, and best part was when Swede was finally hung.

The more killin, ladies of the night and whiskey in that setting is intriguing.
