Default Edmonton Gas Prices 71.9 to 95.9

I have seen some pretty big spreads in gas prices the last few years but the current 24 cent spread is the largest I recall. Seems pretty clear that Esso and PetroCanada are trying to push prices up by a lot. Wasn't too long ago Regular was 54.9. Considering there is still really light traffic loads and low demand I hope it backfires on them big time. Glad Domo and Costco are resisting the push for higher prices. Fill up on the cheap while you can.

Calgary is pretty much 79.9 to 92.9, more on the side of 92.9. Costco is 84.9. I have seen a build up of traffic in the last week for sure here. Got my motor home and truck filled up for 55.9

Well, most of the Costco in Edmonton are up to 79.9 this morning, only one left at 74.9. A few stations at 76.9 but most places are now 85.9 to 92.9. Definitely want to gas up soon.

I'm hoping it doesn't happen but once things start to get back to what we use to do, fuel will get to $1.30 or more. They have to make up for lost revenue. Then they can blame it all on tornado's, hurricanes, maintenance and of course more demand.

Agree with you Barbless. Even at 1.30 gas I would not own shares in Suncor or any of the other refiners. Just do not see much upside in the next ten years. If 1.30 gas made Alberta's economy come back strong I wouldn't even complain about it.

At this rate if oil ever hits $70 a barrel we will be paying $3 litre for regular gas. Unfortunately ,regardless of what the oil companies would like to have us believe, gas prices are based on whatever they think they can get away with , not on the price of oil.

You can bet we will pay $1.30 l again and probably this year but it will do nothing to bring back the economy. It will just bleed the average consumer a little more , that’s all.

With all this covid stuff that has gone on world wide, has anyone noticed a price drop in anything? Airfare? Hotels? Groceries in general? Anything at all?

just talk about covid surcharges coming into effect. Restaurants are right up top of the list apparently, which is fine, I won't miss them.

Hotels in Canada will likely double being empty.

Anyone that puts a Covid surcharge on can GF themselves. I won't deal there and I will be REALLY vocal about why not. No one is subsidizing my Covid costs or loses.

Well at least I won't have to pay any money for fuel in B.C. (bring cash) this year. Kinda sucks cause had to cancel my fishing trip to Revelstoke (18 yrs. in a row). Was $1.46 at the pump last year mid June and we complained. Not allowed to camp. If it gets to $3 a litre, then motor homin" might not happen as often. Day trips of fishing it is. That's ok I will spend all my money in Alberta. Gonna miss my Kokanee eats. Might have to see if my buddy has a jar left

I've been working on a project that was easier for me to do from the office rather than home, so I've been driving to work for about a week now. There was noticeably more traffic in Calgary during "rush hour" starting yesterday, when Calgary was finally able to open up a few places like the rest of the province. Demand for fuel must be going up, the price will follow. Some of the jumps have got to be collusion though, based on how high the jump is and it's suddenness.

I listened to Jason Kenny spout off about unfair pricing of commodities during the Covid Pandemic, and how they were going to go after such companies and or people with a vengeance. So where did the wheels fall off in dealing with blatant gouging in the case of fuel prices.

I know I'm driving about 1/10 of what I use to and I hope Suncor et al choke on their surplus fuel!!
