Flyguy,
I haven't had time to fish it any where near as often this year as previous years but when out the results have been less than stellar.
I was out for a few hours on Friday and Saturday.
Similar results. One 12" to the boat. One 14" one a dragon nymph and had a nice one break off a leech pattern. Chucked all kinds of patterns and methods at them and very, very, slow.
Spoke to a couple others that had been skunked.
At times it has crossed my mind on a few trips out that maybe it's time to break out the pike gear and flies again to take a break from these damn fickle trout.
Maybe time to try Salter's, Star or Muir?
I'm excited about backswimmer and boatman season approaching but Spring lake fishes have not really keyed on to these patterns the past couple of years. At least in my experience.
Maybe this year will be different?
