Some one said boat should have a meaning behind it .

The night before a trip its hard to get any sleep.
Maybe even dreaming of catching a big Fish.

Call her ......Wet Dreams....

Lots of people have a "Lund" brand. In punjabi, the word "Lund" means penis. And I laugh.

This explains why every one brags about a Lund.

I have had what seems like over a dozen boats over the years, I don't think I named any of them formally but a few of them had "pet names" like ......

a used zodiak, crappy wooden floor and patches we named "the balloon" as it was so full of patches and plastic welds any incursion caused it to deflate it seemed.

a 12ft tinner, which was a leaker, all bashed up, on a rust trailer and we could never get rid of it (tried selling it a few times in the trader and no bites) - so we called it "the psycho X" because that was about the time my crazy x girlfriend wouldn't leave me alone and was stalking me. I ended up giving that boat (and girlfriend) away.

..... and a few other pet names I can't mention for a few boats and even some motors ....

I had one outboard we named "the jackpot" as you never knew when you were going to hit it - she seemed to quit right out of the blue and refused to re-start abruptly and with no apparent pattern.

My current boat, a lund tyee, is unofficially named after the president of a large multi national company I worked for (as it was purchased from the proceeds of my departure package). It was my way of thanking him for a giant bag of cash (bought my boat and truck with cash) and free summer to enjoy my new toys with .... lol.

My old boat, now deceased, was called "Lipsnagger".

Named ours "Prairie Oyster" as we live on the prairies but fish the ocean a fair bit.

"A-Lure" The christening ceremony is a fun thing to do, especially if you make it a party with family and friends. Easy to find various scripts and steps to follow online.

Guppy, Guppy II, Guppy III, GuppyShark (which was G-II renamed after I bought it back and painted teeth on it) and Guppy IV, my current 16' Lund Classic.

Prior to these tinners we had my dad's wooden relics which were always called 'the boat' as in "get the boat, boy, we're going fishing."

I named mine Well Oiled cause it's like an oil well, only in reverse.
Instead of money pouring out, I pour money into it.

My Brother's boat is The CodFather.
